What Should I Do If I Encounter 2FA Issues on KAST?

If you lose access to your authentication app (for example, if your phone is lost, stolen, or reset), you won’t be able to log in with your 2FA code. In this case, you have two recovery options:

  • Use your backup codes: If you saved your backup codes when setting up 2FA, enter one of them on the login screen to regain access.
  • Request a 2FA reset: If you don’t have backup codes, you’ll need to request a reset through KAST Concierge.

How Do I Request A 2FA Request from KAST Concierge?

The reset process requires proof of identity for security reasons. You’ll be asked to provide:

  • A selfie with your government-issued ID
  • A handwritten note that says: “KAST 2FA reset & [today’s date]”

Submit these documents to KAST Concierge along with your request. Once verified, our team will disable the old 2FA setup and send you instructions to re-enable 2FA on your new device.

Resets typically take 1–2 business days depending on how quickly your documents can be verified. During this time, deposits will still arrive in your account, but you won’t be able to log in until 2FA is restored.

Best Practices for Managing 2FA on KAST

  • Store backup codes securely: Save them in a password manager or offline storage. Never share them with anyone.
  • Keep a secondary device ready: Add your KAST 2FA to a second device (if your app allows it) so you’re not locked out if your phone is lost or damaged.
  • Update 2FA before changing devices: If you’re switching phones, move your authenticator setup first, then reset your device.
  • Avoid deleting authenticator entries: Don’t remove your KAST code from the app unless you’ve already set up a replacement.
  • Stay synced: Make sure your device’s clock is set to automatic time. Out-of-sync devices can generate invalid codes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I get an error when enabling 2FA in KAST?

Most errors are due to incorrect device time or an outdated authenticator app. Set your device clock to automatic, update your KAST app, enable the authenticator in Privacy & Security, and enter the 2FA code.

Can I disable 2FA on my KAST account?

Yes, but disabling 2FA is not recommended as it removes an important layer of protection for your account. Without 2FA, your account is more vulnerable to unauthorized access even if someone gets your login details.

Can I reset my 2FA without contacting KAST Concierge?

No. If you don’t have backup codes, the only way to reset 2FA is through KAST Concierge for security verification.

What happens to my old authenticator app after a reset?

Once your 2FA is reset, the old authenticator codes will no longer work. You’ll need to re-enable 2FA on your new device.

What if my 2FA reset request is rejected?

If your identity documents don’t meet requirements, KAST Concierge will let you know what needs to be corrected or resubmitted.
