How Does the LATAM FX Fee Rebate Promotion Work?

  • Updated

What Is the LATAM FX Fee Rebate Promotion?

If you're using your KAST Card to make purchases in an eligible LATAM currency, you can benefit from the LATAM FX Fee Rebate Promotion on qualifying card spend.

When you make a qualifying purchase, KAST's FX fee may be charged at the time of spend. KAST will then provide a promotional credit-back of the FX fee amount, giving you an effective 0% FX fee on eligible LATAM card spending.

Note: This promotion applies only to qualifying card spend transactions. It does not apply to deposits, transfers, ATM withdrawals, virtual asset purchases, gambling transactions, or other non-qualifying transactions.

Promotion Period

Qualifying transactions must be successfully completed during the promotion period:

  • BRL transactions: July 1, 2026 (00:00 local time) to December 31, 2027 (23:59 local time)
  • All other eligible LATAM currencies: July 16, 2026 (00:00 local time) to December 31, 2027 (23:59 local time)

KAST may modify or discontinue the promotion for future transactions with at least 30 days' notice through the KAST app or by email. KAST may also modify or end the promotion immediately if required by applicable law, regulation, a regulator or governmental authority, the card issuer, or the card network.

Any change will not affect rebates or credits already accrued on qualifying transactions completed before the effective date of the change.

  • Is successfully completed during the relevant promotion period.

Which Transactions Are Not Eligible?

The following transactions are not included in the promotion:

  • Declined or failed transactions
  • Reversals, refunds, cancellations, or chargebacks
  • Transactions that do not result in an eligible foreign exchange conversion in one of the eligible LATAM currencies

How Is the Rebate Calculated?

The rebate is calculated per qualifying transaction.

You'll receive a promotional credit equal to the KAST FX fee charged on that qualifying transaction.

Transactions cannot be combined, split, or recharacterized to increase the promotional credit.

What Is Covered?

The promotion covers the KAST FX fee charged on qualifying transactions.

For this promotion, FX fee means the foreign-exchange markup applied on top of the Network Wholesale Rate for a qualifying transaction under the card program.

What Is Not Covered?

The promotion does not cover:

  • The Network Wholesale Rate itself
  • Any margin embedded in the Network Wholesale Rate
  • Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC)
  • Merchant surcharges
  • Acquirer, network, or other third-party fees
  • Taxes or government charges
  • ATM fees
  • Any other fees or charges that are not the KAST FX fee

When Will I Receive My Rebate?

Rebates are currently issued weekly.

Here's how it works:

  • Eligible transactions are grouped from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 (UTC).
  • Rebates are typically credited to your KAST account within 7 business days after the weekly period ends.
  • Credits are paid in USD, based on the FX fee amount converted at the rate applied to the underlying transaction.
  • Processing times may vary due to settlement timing, compliance reviews, or other checks.

KAST may apply a per-user rebate cap per calendar month.

Future Update

KAST plans to apply the rebate automatically at the time of purchase in the future.

Until automatic application is introduced, the weekly credit-back process will continue to apply. Once automatic application starts, KAST will notify users through the platform. From that effective date, the weekly credit-back terms will stop applying to new transactions.

Any rebate accrued under the weekly system before automatic application begins will still be paid out under the weekly terms.

What Happens If My Purchase Is Refunded?

If an eligible purchase is later reversed, refunded, cancelled, or charged back, KAST may reverse, withhold, or adjust the related promotional credit.

KAST may also delay, withhold, reverse, or adjust credits in cases of suspected fraud, abuse, error, reversal of the underlying transaction, or non-compliance with the promotion rules.

Fraud & Compliance

KAST may audit transaction activity at any time to ensure compliance with the promotion rules.

Fraudulent activity, artificial transaction behavior, manipulation of the promotion, or violation of the promotion rules may result in:

  • Immediate disqualification
  • Forfeiture or reversal of promotional credits
  • Suspension or termination of the user's account

No Foreign Exchange Services

KAST does not provide foreign exchange, currency conversion, or currency trading in connection with this promotion or the underlying card transactions.

Currency conversion on local-denominated currency transactions is performed by the card network at the exchange rate determined under the network rules. This promotion consists solely of a promotional rebate funded by KAST.
