In this article, you’ll learn how to update or change the phone number linked to your KAST account, why it matters for your security, and what to do if you can no longer access your registered number.

Why Do I Need to Keep My Phone Number Updated on KAST?

Your phone number plays a key role in account security - it’s how KAST verifies your identity, sends OTP codes, and alerts you to important updates. Keeping it current ensures uninterrupted access to your account and smooth verification in the future.

If you’ve switched numbers, lost access to your old SIM, or changed countries, it’s important to update your details as soon as possible to avoid login issues or failed verification attempts.

How Do I Change the Phone Number Linked to my KAST Account?

For security reasons, KAST does not allow phone numbers to be changed directly within the app. Phone number updates are handled by KAST Concierge and can only be processed 30 days after your account was created.

When requesting a phone number update, please provide:

  • Your full name
  • Your registered email address
  • Your current phone number
  • Your new phone number
  • A brief explanation for the change

You will also need to submit:

  • A selfie holding your valid government-issued ID
  • A piece of paper showing:
    • "KAST phone number update"
    • Today's date

Make sure your ID is clearly visible and readable in the photo.

Once KAST receives and reviews the required information, our team will contact you with the next steps.

What Happens After I Submit A Request?

Once you’ve submitted your request, here’s what to expect:

  1. Verification check: The Concierge team verifies your identity before processing changes.
  2. Number update: Once approved, your new phone number is linked to your account.
  3. Confirmation: You’ll receive a notification or email once the update is complete.

After that, all OTPs, alerts, and notifications will be sent to your new number.

What If Something Doesn’t Work After Updating My Number?

If you’ve updated your number but something isn’t working as expected - such as not receiving OTPs or login errors - here’s what to check first:

  • Confirm the update is complete: Check your inbox for the confirmation email from KAST. If you haven’t received one, your request may still be in review.
  • Test your network connection: Make sure your phone has signal and can receive SMS messages.
  • Verify international format: Your number should include the correct country code (e.g., +44, +63, +1).
  • Restart the KAST app: Log out and back in to refresh your session.
  • Try a manual OTP resend: Tap “Resend Code” in the app if the message doesn’t arrive within a minute.

If you’ve tried these steps and still can’t access your account or receive OTPs, contact KAST Concierge for assistance.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to update my number?

Most number updates are processed within 24–48 hours once verification is complete. In some cases, additional security checks or missing information may extend the timeline slightly.

Can I use the same phone number on multiple KAST accounts?

Each phone number can only be linked to one active KAST account at a time. This rule helps prevent duplication and protects your identity and account security.

Will I lose access to my account while waiting for the change?

You’ll still be able to log in and access most features while the update is being reviewed. However, actions that require OTP verification may be temporarily limited until the new number is confirmed.

Will changing my phone number affect my KAST card or wallet balance?

No changes will occur to your card, balance, or transaction history when your number is updated. The update only affects your registered contact details used for verification and notifications.

Can I revert to my old number after changing it?

Yes, you can revert to your old number if you still have access to it. You’ll need to complete the same identity verification process again to confirm ownership before the number can be restored.
