If a transaction in your KAST app appears as pending, authorized, or is otherwise not yet fully processed, this article explains what these statuses mean, how to check your transaction status, and what steps to take next.

What Do Transaction Statuses Mean on KAST?

Understanding transaction statuses helps you track payments, refunds, and transfers accurately. KAST displays statuses differently for outbound (payments) and inbound (incoming funds) transactions.

Outbound Transactions (Payments, Purchases, Transfers)

  • Pending: The transaction has been initiated but has not yet been processed by the merchant or payment network. No funds have fully left your account yet.
  • Authorized: The payment amount is temporarily held on your KAST card. The merchant must capture the payment for it to move forward.
  • Completed: The transaction has been successfully sent from your KAST account to the merchant or recipient.
  • Declined: The payment could not be processed due to insufficient funds, technical issues, or security blocks.

Inbound Transactions (Refunds, Top-Ups, Transfers Received)

  • Pending: Incoming funds have been initiated but are not yet fully credited to your KAST account.
  • Received: Funds are now available in your KAST account.
  • Refunded: The transaction amount has been returned to your KAST account following a cancellation, dispute, or merchant-issued refund.
  • Declined: The incoming transfer or refund could not be processed due to errors or restrictions from the sender/merchant.

4. Review the status. Each transaction will display its current status.

For multiple transactions, repeat these steps for each transaction you want to check.

What Should I Do If a Transaction Stays Pending?

  • Wait for normal processing: Most transactions clear in 1–3 business days. Weekends, holidays, or extra verification can extend this.
  • Understand pre-authorization holds: Merchants such as hotels or car rentals may place temporary holds that release automatically within 7–30 days if not finalized.
  • Know refund timelines: Refunds typically appear within 3–10 business days after the merchant issues them.
  • Contact KAST Concierge: If your transaction has been pending beyond the expected timeframe, or you spot anything unusual, share the date, amount, and any reference number with KAST Concierge for help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my KAST transaction taking longer than expected?

Delays can happen if the merchant takes extra time to process the payment or if additional checks are required by your bank. You can monitor the transaction status directly in the KAST app, and if it hasn’t cleared after the usual timeframe, it’s worth reaching out for support.

Do weekends or holidays affect transaction processing?

Yes. Transactions and refunds may take longer to process during weekends or public holidays since banks and payment networks are closed or delayed.

What if I don’t recognize a pending transaction?

If you see a transaction you don’t remember making, it may be a pre-authorization or a fraudulent attempt. Monitor your account and contact KAST Concierge immediately if you suspect unauthorized activity.

Why do some merchants place a temporary hold instead of charging immediately?

Certain merchants, such as hotels, airlines, or car rentals, use authorization holds to confirm funds before finalizing the charge. These holds usually release automatically if the merchant doesn’t complete the payment.

Can I cancel a pending KAST transaction?

Pending transactions generally cannot be canceled. If you believe a transaction is unauthorized, contact KAST Concierge immediately.

What should I do if funds are on hold for a long time?

Holds that do not clear within 7–30 days should be reviewed. Contact your bank or KAST Concierge for guidance.
