Why Was I Charged an Unexpected Fee?

If you see an unexpected fee or charge on your account, here are some common reasons:

  • Declined Transaction Fees: These occur when your card transaction is rejected, typically due to insufficient funds or exceeding ATM withdrawals. A fee of up to USD 0.50 may apply per declined transaction (only for insufficient balance).
  • Foreign Transaction Fees. Foreign Transaction Fees: These may apply when you use your card for international purchases or withdrawals.
  • Pending Charges or Holds: Temporary holds placed by merchants before final transaction.
  • Your Personal Subscription Charges: Recurring payments for services you've subscribed to.

What is the difference between a pending charge and a final charge?

A pending charge is a temporary hold on funds, but not the final charge. This is common with merchants like hotels or gas stations. Once the merchant finalises the transaction, the charge will appear in your account with the correct amount.

Are there any monthly maintenance fees for my KAST card?
