KAST Memberships unlock different levels of rewards, card perks, and features depending on the tier you choose. This article explains how memberships work, what each tier offers, and how to choose the right one for you.

What Are KAST Memberships?

KAST memberships are tiered plans that determine the rewards, benefits, and card features you get when using KAST.

What Changed With Memberships?

Instead of a per-card subscription, KAST memberships let you choose a single tier for your entire account based on how you use KAST. It now groups benefits into clear tiers, making it easier to understand what you get and how rewards scale.

  • Each tier offers different cashback rates and limits
  • Card types and perks vary by membership level
  • Higher tiers unlock more rewards and premium cards

What Are the Different Membership Tiers?

KAST offers three membership tiers:

  • Standard members pay a $40 shipping fee for physical cards
  • Some regions may apply a $2 issuance fee for Standard cards
  • Premium and Private tiers include physical cards at no extra cost

How Do I Choose the Right Membership Tier?

Your ideal membership depends on how you use KAST.

  • Standard: Best for light or occasional usage with no annual fee
  • Premium: Ideal if you spend regularly and want higher cashback and rewards
  • Private: Designed for high spenders who want maximum rewards and premium card access

If you spend more each month, higher tiers can offer better overall value.

How Do Memberships Compare To The Previous Card Model?

Previously, KAST used a per-card model, where you paid individually for each card you wanted.

For example, a Luxe card cost $10,000 for a single card. With the new membership model, that same price now gives you significantly more value.

  • Private Tier ($10,000/year) Instead of paying for just one card, you now get:
    • 1 Gold card
    • 2 additional cards from any tier
    • 3% USD cashback
    • 2% KAST points

This means you’re not just getting a premium card, you’re getting multiple cards, higher rewards, and ongoing benefits under one membership.

Overall, memberships are designed to give you more flexibility, more rewards, and more value compared to the previous one-card model.

These benefits may include:

  • Travel perks: Access to airport lounges, travel insurance, and trip protections
  • Purchase protection: Coverage for eligible purchases against damage or theft
  • Extended warranties: Additional coverage on select purchases
  • Concierge services: 24/7 assistance for travel, dining, and lifestyle needs

Because both tiers offer VISA Infinite cards, you get access to premium, globally recognized benefits that enhance your everyday spending and travel experience.

Combined with cashback and KAST points, these added perks make Premium and Private memberships valuable beyond just rewards.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I have a membership without a card?

Yes, you can have a membership without holding a card. However, most rewards and benefits are tied to card usage.

Does my membership apply to all my cards or just one?

Your membership applies to your account, not just a single card. This means your benefits extend across all eligible cards you hold.

Is membership the same thing as my card tier, or separate?

Membership is your account-level plan (Standard, Premium, or Private) that determines benefits like rewards rates. Your card type is tied to your membership tier, but membership is the “source of truth” for what benefits you get.

Do I need a membership to use my KAST card at all?

No, your cards can still work even if you’re on the Standard tier or if a paid membership ends. What changes is your benefits (like cashback/points rates and tier perks), which follow your current membership status.

How much do additional Premium or Private cards cost?

Additional cards require contacting Concierge, and pricing is shared during that process. These cards are not purchased directly in the app.

Can I pay monthly instead of yearly?

No, memberships are billed upfront for a 12‑month period. There isn’t a monthly billing option at the moment.

How many cards can I have on each tier?

Standard includes up to 2 free cards (virtual or physical), Premium includes 1 Premium card plus your Standard allowance, and Private includes 1 Plated Gold card plus 2 additional cards from any other tier. Overall, there’s also a hard maximum of 10 total cards per user.

Are there extra fees for physical cards or additional cards?

Yes. Standard physical cards have a $40 shipping fee, while Premium and Private physical cards are included. Some users may be charged a $2 issuance fee for Standard virtual cards, depending on their region.

Do I earn both cashback and points, or is it one or the other?

On paid tiers, you earn both USD cashback and KAST points on eligible spend. Standard does not earn KAST points, and cashback is limited to the Standard tier rules.

What happens to my existing cards when I upgrade my membership?

Your existing cards remain active after an upgrade. The new tier benefits — including higher cashback rates and KAST Points — apply immediately across all eligible cards. If your new tier includes a premium physical card type, you can order it separately.

Can I share my KAST membership with someone else?

No, you can’t share your KAST membership with someone else. It’s tied to your individual account and isn’t transferable.
