KAST Memberships unlock different levels of rewards, card perks, and features depending on the tier you choose. This article explains how memberships work, what each tier offers, and how to choose the right one for you.

What Are KAST Memberships?

KAST memberships are tiered plans that determine the rewards, benefits, and card features you get when using KAST.

What Changed With Memberships?

Instead of a per-card subscription, KAST memberships let you choose a single tier for your entire account based on how you use KAST. It now groups benefits into clear tiers, making it easier to understand what you get and how rewards scale.

  • Each tier offers different cashback rates and limits
  • Card types and perks vary by membership level
  • Higher tiers unlock more rewards, higher caps, and premium cards

What Are the Different Membership Tiers?

KAST offers three membership tiers:

What Benefits Do I Get With Each Tier?

Here’s how rewards and benefits compare across tiers:

2% on first $10,000/month

3% on first $40,000/month

Note:

  • Standard members pay a $40 shipping fee for physical cards
  • Some regions may apply a $2 issuance fee for Standard cards
  • Premium and Private physical cards are included in membership
  • If you need cards beyond your included quota, contact Concierge
  • A user can have a maximum of 10 cards in total

How Do I Choose the Right Membership Tier?

Your ideal membership depends on how you use KAST.

  • Standard: Best for light or occasional usage with no annual fee
  • Premium: Ideal if you spend regularly and want higher cashback and rewards
  • Private: Designed for high spenders who want maximum rewards and premium card access

If you spend more each month, higher tiers can offer better overall value.

How Do Memberships Compare To The Previous Card Model?

Previously, KAST used a per-card model, where you paid individually for each card you wanted.

For example, a Luxe card cost $10,000 for a single card. With the new membership model, that same price now gives you significantly more value.

  • Private Tier ($10,000/year)
Instead of paying for just one card, you now get:
    • 1 Plated Gold card
    • 2 additional free cards from any other tier
    • 3% cashback on up to $40,000 monthly spend

This means you’re not just getting a premium card, you’re getting multiple cards, higher rewards, and ongoing benefits under one membership.

Overall, memberships are designed to give you more flexibility, more rewards, and more value compared to the previous one-card model.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Have a Membership Without a Card?

Yes. Your KAST membership is linked to your account, so you can have a membership without holding a card.

However, many membership benefits, including cashback and KAST Points, are connected to eligible card spending. To get the most from these benefits, you’ll need an eligible KAST Card.

Does My Membership Apply to All My Cards?

Yes. Your membership applies to your KAST account rather than to one specific card.

Your membership benefits, including eligible cashback and KAST Points rates, apply across your eligible KAST Cards according to your current membership tier.

Is My Membership the Same as My Card Tier?

They’re connected, but they’re not the same thing.

Your membership is your account-level plan: Standard, Premium, or Private. It determines benefits such as your rewards rates, cashback caps, and other tier allowances.

Your card type is associated with your membership, but your current membership is what determines the benefits available to your account.

Do I Need a Paid Membership to Use My KAST Card?

No. You don’t need a paid Premium or Private membership to continue using an eligible KAST Card.

If your paid membership expires or you move to Standard, your eligible cards can continue to work. However, your rewards rates and other benefits will follow the rules of your current membership tier.

Can I Pay for My Membership Monthly?

No. Premium and Private memberships are currently billed upfront for a 12-month period.

Monthly billing is not available at this time.

What Happens If I Don’t Have Enough Funds for My Membership Renewal?

If we can’t collect your renewal payment, you’ll enter a 7-day grace period.

During this period, KAST will attempt to collect the required amount from your wallet each day.

If the payment is still unsuccessful after 7 days, your membership will be downgraded to Standard.

What Happens to My Remaining Premium Membership If I Upgrade to Private?

Your Private membership starts a new 12-month membership period immediately.

Any remaining time on your Premium membership does not carry over, and you won’t receive a pro-rata credit for the unused period.

If I Cancel My Premium Membership, Will My Cards Stop Working?

No. Your eligible Premium physical and virtual cards can continue to work after your paid membership ends.

Once your Premium term expires, however, your account benefits will move to the Standard membership level, including your applicable cashback and KAST Points rates.

How Many Cards Can I Have With Each Membership Tier?

Your card allowance depends on your membership:

  • Standard: Up to 2 free cards, virtual or physical.
  • Premium: 1 Premium card, plus your Standard card allowance.
  • Private: 1 Plated Gold card, plus 2 additional cards from other tiers.

There is also an overall maximum of 10 cards per user.

Are There Additional Fees for Physical or Extra Cards?

Yes. Fees depend on the card and membership tier.

Standard physical cards have a $40 shipping fee. Premium and Private physical cards are included with their respective memberships.

Depending on your region, a $2 issuance fee may apply to Standard virtual cards.

If you’d like an additional Premium or Private card, please contact KAST Concierge. We’ll provide the applicable pricing and help you with the request.

How Much Do Additional Premium or Private Cards Cost?

Additional Premium and Private cards aren’t purchased directly through the KAST app.

Please contact KAST Concierge if you’d like to request one. Our team will confirm the applicable pricing and guide you through the process.

What Does the Cashback Cap Mean?

A cashback cap is the maximum amount of monthly spending that qualifies for cashback at your tier’s rate. For example, with Premium, you earn 2% cashback only on the first $10,000 of eligible spend each month, up to $200 in monthly cashback. With Private, you earn 3% cashback on the first $40,000 of eligible spend each month, up to $1,200 in monthly cashback. Once you reach your tier’s limit, any additional spending will not earn USD cashback for the rest of the month.

Do I Earn Both USD Cashback and KAST Points?

Premium and Private members can earn both USD cashback and KAST Points on eligible card spending.

Standard members don’t earn KAST Points, and USD cashback follows the Standard membership rules.

If you reach your monthly USD cashback cap, you’ll stop earning USD cashback for the remainder of that month. Premium and Private members can continue earning KAST Points on eligible card spending.

What Happens to My Existing Cards If I Upgrade My Membership?

Your existing eligible cards remain active when you upgrade.

Your new membership benefits, including the applicable cashback and KAST Points rates, take effect across your eligible cards.

If your new membership includes a different physical card, you can order that card separately.

I’m an Existing KAST User. Which Membership Tier Will I Get?

Your membership will be assigned based on your highest-tier active KAST Card:

  • Standard Card → Standard
  • Premium Card → Premium
  • Luxe Card → Private

I Have a Founders Card. What Happens to My Membership?

Founders Card members receive Premium lifetime membership at no additional cost.

Limited and Founder cards are no longer offered to new users.

How Long Is My Free Membership Period After Migration?

Your free membership period is based on the remainder of a 12-month period from your original card purchase date, with a minimum of one month.

To keep your current membership tier after this period, you’ll need to renew or upgrade by your Target Billing Start Date.

I Was Charged Automatically for My Membership. Why?

If auto-renewal is enabled, KAST will attempt to renew your membership when your current paid period ends.

If the initial payment is unsuccessful, your account enters a 7-day grace period, during which KAST will attempt to collect the required funds from your wallet each day.

You can disable auto-renewal at any time.

If you believe you were charged incorrectly or would like to discuss a refund, please contact KAST Concierge for assistance.

My Card Works, but I’m Getting Less Cashback Than Before. Why?

Your physical card can remain active even if your membership is downgraded.

However, your rewards follow your current membership tier. If you move to Standard, your rewards change to the Standard rate of 1.5% cashback with no KAST Points.

To access the higher Premium or Private rewards rates again, you’ll need to renew or upgrade your membership.

Can I Share My KAST Membership With Someone Else?

No. Your KAST membership is linked to your individual account and can’t be shared or transferred to another user.
