How Do I Add Employees to a KAST Business Account?

  • Updated

This article explains how to invite and add employees to your KAST Business account. You’ll learn how employee invitations work, what employees need during onboarding, how employee screening works, what employees can access, and what happens if an invite expires or an employee leaves the company.

Who Can Add Employees to a KAST Business Account?

Owners and Admins can invite employees and other team members to a KAST Business account. Once added, employees can receive assigned permissions, Employee Cards, and access to approved Business features.

Employees cannot invite other team members, change team settings, or revoke another team member’s Business access. Team management is only available to Owners and Admins.

How Do I Invite an Employee to KAST Business?

Step-By-Step Guide

1. Open the KAST Business Login Page
2. Go to the Team Section

3. Enter the invitee’s work email address.

4. Choose wherever you want to give him Employee Access or Admin and send Invite

5. Set a Limit for the card spend

6. You can directly create a card for the employee or skip this part for now

7. Click Send invite

What Happens During Employee Onboarding?

The onboarding flow depends on whether the employee already has a KAST Personal account.

If the Employee Already Uses KAST

The employee may be asked to:

  • Log in to their existing KAST account
  • Link their KAST Personal account to the Business account

This helps avoid duplicate onboarding.

If the Employee Is New to KAST

The employee can onboard as a business-only employee without completing Full KYC for a personal KAST account.

Employees still will be asked to complete lightweight employee screening information such as:

  • Legal first and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Government ID number or local equivalent

Employee screening is not the same as Full KYC. It is used for compliance and sanctions screening.

What Is Employee Screening and Pending Status?

KAST will perform employee screening as part of compliance and sanctions checks.

What Happens If an Employee Is Pending Review?

If additional review is required:

  • The employee will appear as Pending in the Team view
  • Some Business features, including Employee Cards, will be unavailable until the review is completed

Once screening is completed successfully, the employee can receive access and Business card provisioning.

What Can Employees Access in KAST Business?

Employees have restricted access. They can access their assigned Employee Cards and view their own card activity.

Employees cannot view company cards, team lists, or business-wide account information. They also cannot invite, remove, or manage other team members.

What Happens If an Employee Leaves the Company?

Owners and Admins can revoke an employee’s access to the KAST Business account at any time.

When an employee’s access is revoked:

  • Business access is disabled
  • Active sessions are ended
  • Associated Employee Cards are disabled, cancelled, or closed depending on their status
  • Transaction history remains available for audit purposes

What Should I Do If an Employee Didn’t Receive the Invite?

First:

  • Ask the employee to check spam or junk folders
  • Ask them to search for “KAST” in their inbox
  • Confirm the work email address was entered correctly

If needed, you can resend the invitation from the Team section.

What Happens If a KAST Business Invite Expires?

KAST Business invites expire after 7 days. If the invite expires before acceptance, you’ll need to send a new invitation from the Team section.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do Employees Need a KAST Account to Be Added to KAST Business?

Employees do not always need an existing KAST Personal account. They can onboard as business-only employees during the invitation process.

Do Employees Need Full KYC for KAST Business?

Owners and Admins must complete Full KYC verification. Employees may only need employee screening depending on their permissions and Business access.

Can I Resend a KAST Business Employee Invite?

Employee invites can be resent if they expire or were not received. You can manage invitations from the Team section of the KAST Web Version.

Why Didn’t My Employee Receive Their KAST Business Invite?

If an employee did not receive their invite, ask them to check spam or junk folders and search for “KAST” in their inbox. Also confirm the work email address was entered correctly.

The email domain must exactly match one of the approved company domains configured for the Business account. If the email domain does not match, the invite is held for internal approval before the invite email is delivered. This can make the invite look like it was not received yet.

If the email address is correct and the domain is approved, you can resend the invitation from the Team section.

Can I Cancel a Pending Employee Invite?

Yes. If an employee has not accepted the invite yet, Owners and Admins can cancel the pending invitation from the Team section.

Can I Invite Someone as an Admin Instead of an Employee?

Yes. Owners and Admins can invite team members as either Admins or Employees. Admins have broader access and must complete Full KYC verification, while Employees have restricted access and usually complete lightweight employee screening only.

Why Is My Employee Showing as Pending in KAST Business?

Pending status usually means the employee screening process is still under review. Employee Cards will not be issued until the review is completed.

Can I Remove an Employee from KAST Business Later?

Owners and Admins can remove employees from the Business account at any time. Removing an employee disables Business access and cancels associated Employee Cards, depending on their status.

Can Employees Invite Other Employees or Revoke Business Access?

Employees cannot invite other team members, change team settings, or revoke another team member’s Business access. Only Owners and Admins can manage employees in the Business account.

What Can Employees See in KAST Business?

Employees can access their assigned Employee Cards and view their own card activity. They cannot view company cards, team lists, or business-wide account information.

Can an Employee Have More Than One Employee Card?

Yes. An employee can have multiple Employee Cards if needed, depending on how the Business account is set up and managed.

How Many Employees Can I Add to a KAST Business Account?

Your company can have up to 150 cards in total across Company Cards and Employee Cards. Card limits may vary by account. If you need more card capacity, contact success@kast.xyz.

Is Employee Screening the Same as Full KYC?

Employee screening is not the same as Full KYC. Owners and Admins must complete Full KYC verification. Employees usually complete lightweight employee screening only, which include legal name, date of birth, and ID number.

Do Employees Need KAST Accounts to Receive Salary Payments?

Employees do not necessarily need KAST accounts if payouts are sent directly to bank accounts. KAST accounts are only required for KAST-to-KAST transfers.
