This article explains what Proof of Address (POA) is, why KAST requires it, which documents are accepted, and how to submit your POA during verification. It also covers common issues, tips for successful approval, and answers to frequently asked questions.

What Is Proof of Address?

Proof of Address (POA) is a document that verifies the residential address you provided during your KAST registration. It must show your full name, your complete address, and be issued by a trusted source such as a bank, government agency, or utility provider.

KAST requests POA as part of standard verification (KYC) requirements used globally to maintain a safe and compliant platform.

Why Do I Need To Provide Proof of Address?

KAST requires Proof of Address to:

  • Verify your identity and protect your KAST account
  • Comply with global Anti–Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations
  • Ensure safe use of financial services
  • Confirm you are eligible for certain KAST products in your region

Submitting POA helps keep your account secure and ensures uninterrupted access to KAST services.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Can I use the same document for POA and identity verification?

No — POA and identity documents must be submitted separately. Your ID verifies who you are, while your POA verifies where you live.

Does my POA need to match the address on my ID?

Not necessarily. It only needs to match the residential address you entered in the KAST app.

Can I use a digital statement?

Yes, digital statements in PDF format from your bank or service provider are accepted. Just make sure the document clearly shows your name, address, and the issue date.

Can I use a screenshot?

No. Screenshots are not accepted for POA verification. Documents must be a clear photo taken with a camera or a full scan of the original document, showing all required details.

What if I live with family and bills aren’t in my name?

Submit:

  • A tenancy agreement listing your name, or
  • A residency certificate, or
  • A bank statement showing your address

If unsure, contact KAST Concierge.

My address changed — what should I do?

Upload a new POA document that shows your updated residential address. This ensures your account information stays accurate and compliant.

How long does POA review take?

POA reviews are usually completed within minutes. However, processing times may vary depending on submission volume and document quality.
